Ally Marie is an up and coming artist from the mid west. Acoustically driven, her music has been compared to that of Colbie Callait, Brooke Fraser, and Ingrid Michaelson. Most of the Songs she writes come straight from her journal. Music is her way of capturing memories and lessons learned, as well as the struggles and ups and downs she has encountered in life. She strives to be transparent and honest with her music.
As a little girl she always adored music and grew up singing and participating in choir and musicals. As she entered high school she picked up guitar and began writing her own songs when she was about 18. Through leading worship at church, the down town Mission of Hope, campus Bible studies, and playing at local shows and coffee shops, her love of performing live has continued to grow. She has opened for artists such as Staggerford, Zach and Sara Blickens, Final Alibi, and Happy Go Lovely, as well as local artists and bands.
Ally has a heart for world missions and has traveled to Africa and Haiti to spend time Serving there. While in Africa she was able to teach guitar lessons and has enjoyed leading worship for the teams that she has traveled with. Her EP Oceans is named after the song that she wrote in 2009 after spending a month in the Country of Mozambique, Africa. She loves the fact that music is a universal language and hopes to do more in the future in the area of music, missions, and spreading the hope and love of Christ around the world.
Ally believes that the heart of worship is a life sold out to Christ and a heart that is willing to be obedient in serving Him. Through music, she hopes to encourage and lead people in their relationship with God and give them an outlet for expressing the joy that is found in Him.
