GREENBRIER came to be in late 2004. Matthew Kane, Tony Troester, Chris Fonck & Mike Nurre create one powerful mix of southern Country music with a Rockn twist. They are always trying to keep it new so the fans can come back again and again to see something new. The goal with this band is to play great music and to have every one leave the show Happy.
Matthew Kane : Lead Vocals and Bass Guitar Born in Cedar Rapids Iowa, Grew up in Martinsville and Roanoke Va. and moved back to Cedar Rapids in 1995. Matthew has opened from many country and southern rocker artist's. Matthew Has played bass since the age of 12 and has been on stage since he could walk. Matthew grew up on and off the road with his parents band Amarilla. When Matthew is not on stage playing music he is working on new songs Running sound for other bands with his sound Co. InTheMusic Pro. Or working on and cursing around in his Chevy Corvair's. Matthew has worked in ROUGHSTOCK, Mackie BLUE, and GREENBRIER
Tony Troester : Lead Guitar and Vocals Born and raised in Edgewood Iowa. Tony has been playing guitar professionally since 1998. His previous groups include The Woodsy Gang, The Brian Troester Band, Kase-n-Point, and Greenbrier. Tony has an array of influences including, country, rock, punk, rockabilly, blues, heavy metal and soul.
Mike Nurre : Lead Vocals and Guitar Mike Nurre is a guitarist playing over 27 years, cutting his teeth in the music industry by playing in clubs at the age of 15 years old. His first experience was in a country-rock band called “Presence” playing covers from bands such as: Lynyrd Skynyrd, .38 Special, Eagles, Allman Brothers, Molly Hatchet and Pure Prairie League. He then moved on with the drummer to form “Exit Inn.” This group played primarily 80 hair band music such as: Motley Crue, Poison, Van Halen, Dokken and Ozzie Ozbourne. Mike found local success when he and the drummer moved on to begin the band “Large Midgets” who played 90's and 00's pop-rock such as: Matchbox 20, Barenaked Ladies, Greenday, Fuel, Bowling for Soup, Dada and Blink 182. With the Large Midgets, Mike found himself opening up for national acts such as: 38 Special, Loverboy, Soul Asylum, Skid Row, Jackyl, Vince Neil, Tesla, Bullet Boys and Candlebox. Later, Mike decided to go back to his roots of country and is now playing with Greenbrier. Mike has a wide range of influences from Rock to Country. Some of them are: Eddie VanHalen, George Lynch, John Petrucci, Dicki Betts, Gary Rossington, Don Felder, Eric Clapton, Vince Neil, Brett Mason, Jerry Reed and Brad Paisley.
Jeremy Ackley : Drums and Vovals These musicians have come together to Be Matthew Kane & The Band GREENBRIER. They are quickly becoming one of the areas most popular bands, performing songs by artists such as Matthew Kane, Keith Urban Big & Rich Marty Stuart CCR Alan Jackson Garth Brooks Shawn Kamp Jeremy McCob Lynyrd Skynyrd ... just to name a few. We always stay on top of what is new on the radio.
