The Talent: Cathey “CC” Carpenter, keyboards and vocals; Anna Appleby, drums and backing vocals; John Shaw, bass and vocals; Tony Troester, guitar and vocals; Willie Morris, vocals and acoustic guitar
The Regulators, known until recently as CC and The Regulators, is one of the newest bands on the local music scene.
After her former band CC and the Night Lifers disbanded, Cathey “CC” Carpenter set to work putting together a country band. Joined by a former band mate, Anna Appleby, on drums, she also brought guitarist Tony Troester and bass player Willie Morris on board. The band recently decided to add bass player John Shaw to the mix to allow Willie to focus on lead singer duties.
The band focuses on Top 40 country hits but also throws in some older country favorites, “We are doing our best to play songs that are hot on the charts right now, but we also play a few of the classics like ‘Folsom Prison Blues.’ We want to sound fresh and not fall into playing the same songs all the time like some other bands do,” says Tony.
Although The Regulators is still a relatively new band, the members have the same goals: “to become a good band, to play town events, and open for some big shows,” Cathey says.
“I just wanna be the best that I can be and have a good time doing it,” says Willie.
This band is full of surprises off the stage too.
Stop out to a show and guess which member has never played in a band before, which is a BMX racer and who has played the Grand Ole Opry.
