Hawkeye Nation, along with the entire state of Iowa, are anxious to both welcome and champion our nation’s best wrestlers in April of 2012. This competition will determine the U.S. athletes who will qualify to represent the United States at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, England.

The event will take place at legendary Carver Hawkeye Arena and the local organizing committee (LOC) is working hand in hand with USAW and the USOC to create an experience that both fans and athletes will not forget. That LOC is comprised of officials at the University of Iowa, Iowa City/Coralville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, City of Coralville, and City of Iowa City.

Between U.S. Olympic Wrestling Trials sessions, Downtown Iowa City will host Fan Fest. As the nation’s best amateur wrestlers compete, Downtown Iowa City will host musical performances, family and children’s activities, wrestling documentaries, wrestling demonstrations, and food and drink with a festive atmosphere. Activities will run from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM on both Saturday and Sunday.
