The Carl & Mary Koehler History Center is presenting a lobby display commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Titanic tragedy - “Cedar Rapids, 1912.” The display, which runs from April 14 to July 14, 2012, is in conjunction with Brucemore’s temporary exhibit “The Titanic’s Unsinkable Stories – 100 Years Later.”

The History Center display explores the fashion of the Titanic era, including clothing, hats, shoes and other accessories from the History Center’s Collection. It will also feature “Cedar Rapids 1912: The Titanic Connection” – an exhibition of reproduction Titanic memorabilia from the personal collection of local Titanic enthusiast, David Wendell, including a Titanic ship model, North Star Line place settings and photographs.

Refreshments will be served at the History Center all day on April 14 to celebrate the new display.
