Jazz After Five was conceived by local jazz musician and University of Iowa music professor Brent Sandy. Sandy, who has played with groups all over the world, wanted there to be an outlet for jazz lovers of all ages and tastes so he came up with the idea of having an early Friday evening Jazz show. Iowa City residents, U of Iowa college students, and even interested high school students can now swing by and enjoy new and original jazz compositions within the cozy and intimate confines of the Mill.
