The Winterset Stage is pleased to be working with The Winterset Public Library and Apple Tree Players to provide summer educational programing to the youth of Madison County and beyond! Summer Stage, a week long day camp introducing young artists to various forms of theatre arts, allows students to work alongside professionals learning and exploring storytelling, theatre, music, dance, and puppetry culminating in a final performance for the public. Senior Camp runs June 11th -15th and is open to students going into grades 7th through 12th. Junior Camp runs July 9th – 13th and is open to students going into grades Kindergarten through 6th. Recently, The Winterset Stage has partnered with the Winterset Community School District, Winterset Art Center, Madison County Conservation, Wildwood Hills Ranch, and Iowa State Extension to produce P.A.W.S. After School Program for Kindergarten through Sixth Grade students during the 2012 Spring Semester. The overwhelming success has allowed over 90 students to be involved with this exciting new program and features a new partner each school day.

Winterset, home to the John Wayne Birthplace and the Bridges of Madison County, welcomes 40,000 to 60,000 tourists every year. The mission of The Winterset Stage is to make theatre arts and arts programming accessible to everyone. Completion of their new barn style theatre is scheduled for May of 2014.
