DESCRIPTION:West Music in Coralville\, Iowa is proud to announce their part
 icipation in Wanna Play? Music Week sponsored by NAMM\, the National Associ
 ation of Music Merchants.  All events throughout the week will be family fr
 iendly and open to musicians of all ages and abilities.   Participants in a
 ny activity will also receive 15% off print music and books all week long.

\n•Monday May 7: Music Monday -  Any instrumentalist or vocalist is invi
 ted to join West Music associates and Conservatory students to learn and re
 cord the song "I Wanna Play"\, written by recording artists Aaron Tippin an
 d Thea Tippin.  The more musicians\, the better - show support for music an
 d music education. This event will take place on the West Music Coralville 
 Main Floor starting at 5:00PM.

\n•Tuesday May 8: Guitar Jam - All area
  guitar players are invited to a Guitar Jam in the West Music Recital Hall.
   Bring your guitar and show up between 6:00-8:00PM to play  with fellow gu
 itar players. West Music Weekend Warriors and Rock Steady band members will
  also participate.  The Weekend Warrior program for adults and Rock Steady 
 program for teens is an eight-week jam session ending with a gig in a local
  club or restaurant.  Registration for both of these groups will also be av
 ailable at the jam. West Music provides all of the equipment\, the rehearsa
 l space\, a coach and other band members.

\n•Wednesday May 9: Kids' Dr
 umming - Join West Music Early Childhood Music and Movement Educators for g
 roup drumming fun.   Participants will play drumming games\, learn rhythms\
 , illustrate stories with percussion instruments and more.  Instruments wil
 l be provided.  Ages 4-5 will drum from 1:00-2:00PM and ages 6-10 will drum
  from 6:30-7:30PM.

\n•Thursday May 10: Players' Night Out - Any instrume
 ntalist or vocalist is invited to participate in Players' Night Out.  This 
 is a great opportunity for musicians to perform for each other in a casual 
 environment.  Receive pointers about how to successfully perform\, the etiq
 uette of performing for others as well as being a supportive audience membe
 r.  This event is limited to 12 musicians - sign up early to participate.  
 Players' Night Out begins at 6:30PM in the Recital Hall.

\n•Friday May 1
 1: Musical Moments Demonstrations - Come to West Music during store hours t
 o participate in demonstrations taking place throughout the day of Musical 
 Moments\,  a fun new group piano class offered at West Music.  Participants
  will learn a song on their first try.  The classes are structured for kids
  ages 7-10\, teens ages 11-18\, and adults with different materials and les
 sons for each age group.  Demonstrations will take place on the piano floor
  and in the Recital Hall.
