Guthrie, a major influence in American folk music, wrote dozens of songs, including "This Land is Your Land," "So Long It's Been Good To Know You," and "Deportee." His songs have been recorded by numerous folk singers, including Bob Dylan, Joan Baez and his son, Arlo Guthrie. For this Thursday's Open Mic, Uptown Bill's invites interpretations of Guthrie's music in song or spoken word.
Participants may choose any one of Guthrie's songs to present. Open Mic is open to all ages and abilities. Preregistration is encouraged.
