The Cedar Rapids Fire Department and Mercy Medical Center’s Hall-Perrine Cancer Center are hosting the Pink Heals Tour “Cares Enough to Wear Pink” event next Monday, August 13th from 11 AM – 1 PM. Founded by former professional baseball player and retired firefighter, Dave Graybill, the Pink Heals Tour travels the country each year in a pink fire truck to increase awareness and provide support for women battling cancer.

There will be up to three pink fire trucks at the Hall-Perrine Cancer Center, 701 10th Street SE. The Pink Heals Tour volunteers will be selling books (Pink Heals: The Mending of America by Dave Graybill), T-shirts, and allowing cancer survivors, patients currently in treatment, or individuals that want to honor a family member to sign the pink fire trucks. Also, two cancer survivors will be given a dozen pink roses by the organization. All funds raised will remain in the community for local cancer charities.
