Description
19th Annual Iowa Women's Music Festival, September 1, noon to 6 p.m.; followed by A Celebration of the Roots of Women's Music at the Englert Theatre in Iowa City at 8 p.m. (ticketed event).
Day Stage in Upper City Park, Iowa City noon to 6 p.m.
Bring blankets and chairs for grass seating. No tix are required. Just show up! Food, performer merch, festival swag, and other arts/crafts will be available for purchase, so you may want to bring some spending money. There will also be a kids' area. Pets on leashes are welcome, and dogs have a meet-up for a day of fun!

On Saturday night, September 1 at 8 p.m., the festival continues at The Englert Theatre with a Celebration of the Roots of Women's Music, featuring Cris Williamson, Ferron & B*tch. This is a ticketed event and the Englert is handling all ticket sales. For tickets or more info, please visit www.englert.org or call 319-688-2653.
On Sunday, September 2, at 1 p.m., we will have a screening of Ferron's and B*tch's film "Thunder", about the life and career of Ferron. Ferron and B*tch will be in attendance; we'll have a reception and a discussion with them after the film. We are asking for donations at the door, as a fundraiser for the festival. The film screening will take place at the Women's Resource and Action Center (WRAC), 130 N. Madison St., Iowa City (the blue house across from the Iowa Memorial Union on the campus of U. of Iowa). Following the film screening at 3 p.m. on Sept. 2 at WRAC, Erika Luckett and Lisa Ferraro will present a workshop on creativity and/or healing, details TBD. Check back at www.prairievoices.net for updates.
