The night before the desert blues of Mali’s Terakaft sweeps Greene Square Park, we convene a Global Blues Summit at the African American Museum of Iowa, 55 12th Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids. Terakaft will jam with area blues musicians including Craig Erickson and Skeeter Lewis. In addition to the music there will be discussion of how different styles of blues music around the world have influenced each other.

Craig Erickson is a singer, guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, writer and producer based in Cedar Rapids. His stylistic brew includes blues, fusion, rock, jazz, funk and reggae. Rave reviews in France and Germany led to multiple tours in Europe.

Saxophonist and vocalist Skeeter Lewis leads the Cedar Rapids-based power blues quartet the Red Cedar Rhythm Section. He is a native of Milwaukee and has toured with such noted musicians as Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight and Los Lobos.
