Since their first performance at a small Iowa pub 11 years ago, The Beggarmen have earned a reputation as one of the region’s best Irish music ensembles. The group has headlined folk festivals and played concert halls throughout the Midwest, greeting audiences with their unique style of Irish folk music. The quartet features Tara Dutcher on fiddle and vocals; Brad Pouleson on mandolin, tin whistles, uilleann pipes and vocals; Keith Reins on guitar, piano and vocals; Joseph Dutcher on bodhrán.

The band’s third studio release, A Soft Day, garnered glowing reviews for the traditional tunes and original songs by Brad and Keith. The Iowa City Press Citizen’s Jim Musser called the group’s music “organic, buoyant and graceful” and Kent Williams of Little Village said they “combine technical precision with a sense of playfulness.”
