Making tamales for the holidays is a family event celebrated in almost every household throughout Latin America. For Chef Gaby Weir, native of Venezuela, making "Hallacas" (Venezuelan tamales) is a precious time spent with family. From young children to grandparents, everyone is involved in preparing them, no exceptions! In this hands-on class, Chef Gaby will share her family recipe for Venezuelan Pork & Chicken Tamales wrapped in banana leaves. The class will also make the Mexican favorite, Beef Tamales wrapped in a corn husks, Salsa Verde and lastly, a version of Guatemalan Chicken Tamales. Pre-registration required.
