Earn a better understanding of the basics of graphic design by studying the elements and principles that govern effective design and page layout. Graphic design is the art of combining text and graphics to communicate an effective message through logos, graphics, brochures, newsletters, posters, signs and any other type of visual communication. Designers utilize elements such as lines, shapes, sizes, textures and colors, as well as principles of graphic design, including balance, unity, alignment, consistency, contrast and white space. Tuition includes a textbook. Class will meet on Tuesday's and Thursday's for four sessions.
