Purim celebrates the salvation of the Jewish people in ancient Persia, in the year 356 BCE, from Haman's plot "to destroy, kill and annihilate all the Jews, young and old, infants and women, in a single day (Esther)."
Chabad's Purim Parties will begin with the reading of the Book of Esther, and will include a buffet dinner”. The Purim parties will also include music and traditional hamentashen. In the spirit of Purim prizes will be given to those in costume. All are welcome to join regardless of affiliation or background.
