NOMINATING A BUSINESS
The A-List is a self-nominated contest. Businesses owners can claim eligible businesses, add details (hours, location, photos, etc…) to their business page and choose what categories in which to compete.
You can claim your business any time. Officially the open claim period starts March 3, 2014.
If you claimed a business in 2011 or any subsequent year, you don’t need to claim it again. If you competed prior to 2011, you will need to go through the claim process again.
If you have participated in the KCRG A-List previously your business should be in our database. If you’re new, we might have your business listing already, so try searching for it first here.

Our staff must approve all submissions before they appear. We will make every effort to approve all submissions within 24 hours. If you still don’t see your business listed after 24 hours, email us at email@example.com
Once your business has been claimed, and approved by our staff, you can log into your dashboard and enter your business into the categories you wish to compete in. You may choose up to three categories for your business.
Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your business information and a phone number. We will research it on the backend and may need to call for further clarification.
Eligible businesses must have a physical storefront, be located in the KCRG-TV9 viewing area and provide services in an existing contest category.

Businesses can compete in up to three categories
Winners will be announced online and in print at the end of the contest period
Voting will be held from 12 a.m. March 17 to 5:00 p.m. April 25 at HooplaNow.com/alist
If you had a user account from last year and you haven't logged in since February 26, 2014, you will need to reset your password here. If you do not have an existing account, you will be asked to register and create one in order for your votes to be counted.

You can vote once in each category.
To change a vote all you need to do is to cast a vote for a different business in that same category. The voter will be prompted to confirm that they are about to change a vote.
Winners are chosen by voters on the website and mobile site, but do not reflect or represent an endorsement by Cedar Rapids Television Company, SourceMedia Group, The Gazette Company or any of its affiliate companies.
In general, you can visit our websites without telling us who you are or revealing any personal information. However, if you want to use certain online services, you may be asked to provide some personal information, such as your name, mailing address or e-mail address. We also may ask you to choose a user name and password and provide that information when accessing certain online features.
