About this Place
2013 marks the 6th year for the Iowa Theatre Artists Company (ITAC). The founders of the company, Meg Merckens and Tom Johnson are each veterans of many years of directing, acting, and designing in the professional theatre. ITAC enjoys a close working relationship with Actors' Equity Association, the union of professional actors and stage managers in the United States. . Special emphasis is placed on hiring professionals with Iowa or Midwestern roots. ITAC began in 2008 with performances at the Colony Village Restaurant in Little Amana before moving into its permanent home in 2009 to the former Barn Restaurant in the "heart" of the village of Amana.
