In the fall of 1991 we purchased the old Kendall Building, located on the main drag of uptown Marion, Iowa. In truth, starting a business was the furthest thing from our minds. We were simply looking for a place that could also provide studio space for a very small woman, creating artwork on a very large scale. This wonderful structure we had stumbled upon was built in 1894 and beautifully positioned, directly across the street from a delightful town square park. Within weeks of signing the papers, while living upstairs, we made the highly irrational decision to open an art gallery on the main floor. Now we find ourselves nearly 20 years on... the kids are grown, out of the house, and embarking upon their own irrational pursuits.
