The Iowa City Fencing Center offers group and individual instruction in the Olympic sport of fencing. We're dedicated to creating a fun and exciting atmosphere for competitive and recreational fencers alike. All you need to start are comfortable pants and athletic shoes - we provide all the equipment. Curious? Try our two-hour Intro to Fencing Class, or a 6-week term of weekly group classes, a summer camp, or arrange for an exciting birthday party, corporate team-building program, or other group event. The ICFC also hosts US Fencing Association tournaments twice a month and spectators are always welcome free of charge. Fencing is a true lifetime sport; our students range in age from five to eighty. Some fence just for a little exercise once a week; others train daily for national events. Fencing is a great activity that improves balance, speeds up reaction times, improves mental focus, increases hand/eye coordination and develops fast-paced problem solving skills.
